Get Otto by finding Aquatic Shades, collecting a fish barrel, and filling it with three types of fish.

Requirements

You need Fishing and Aquatic Shades. Complete all barrel steps on the same character. Fish and barrel progress are not shared across your account.

1. Get Aquatic Shades

Collect Gold Coin of the Isles through fishing in the Dragon Isles, or trade smaller coins at The Great Swog (creature ID 191608).

Find him inside a cave in Ohn’ahran Plains, around 82, 73.

Trade 15 Copper Coin of the Isles for 1 Silver Coin of the Isles. Trade 5 Silver Coins for 1 Gold Coin. You need 75 Copper Coins if you start without any Silver or Gold Coins.

Buy Immaculate Sac of Swog Treasures for 1 Gold Coin. Open it for a chance to get Aquatic Shades. If they are missing, collect another Gold Coin and try again.

Alternative: Farm Sir Pinchalot

Use Elusive Croaking Crab on Empty Crab Trap (object ID 386343) in The Forbidden Reach to summon Sir Pinchalot (creature ID 200620).

Trap locations: 23.07, 67.01; 70.52, 41.49; 47.78, 90.90.

Summon him yourself to get the bonus loot that can contain coins. Killing another player’s summon does not give you this bonus. You can repeat the process several times a day. Coins are not guaranteed on every summon.

2. Get the Empty Fish Barrel

Go to The Bubble Bath, an underwater bar in The Waking Shores, around 19.16, 36.60. The dance floor is nearby, around 19.6, 36.5.

Use Aquatic Shades before stepping onto the dance floor. Stand on the nine colored tiles and type /dance.

Check that you have Dance, Dance ‘Til You’re Dead. Keep dancing for 5 minutes, until you are teleported out of the water.

Pick up Empty Fish Barrel in front of you.

If the dance effect does not appear, leave the tiles, use the shades, and step back on.

3. Catch 100 Frigid Floe Fish

Fish in the open water around Iskaara, The Azure Span, at 13.7, 48.5.

Keep the Empty Fish Barrel in your bags and catch 100 Frigid Floe Fish.

Then use the barrel in your bags. It becomes Half-Filled Fish Barrel.

Do this before moving to the next fishing spot.

4. Catch 25 Calamitous Carp

Go to The Waking Shores and fish in the lava near Obsidian Citadel, around 27, 53.

Catch 25 Calamitous Carp.

You do not need the Iskaara Tuskarr lava-fishing unlock for these fish.

Use the barrel again. It becomes Brimming Fish Barrel.

5. Catch Kingfin

Fish in the water near Algeth’ar Academy, Thaldraszus, around 56, 44. Look for the platform beside two fishing Dracthyr.

Catch 1 Kingfin, the Wise Whiskerfish.

Use the barrel again to create Overflowing Fish Barrel.

6. Return the Barrel

Return to Hissing Grotto, The Waking Shores, where you first picked up the barrel.

Location: 20.3, 39.7. For a more precise spot, use 20.37, 39.70.

Use the Overflowing Fish Barrel at the original barrel spot. Otto appears.

Talk to Otto immediately and accept and complete The Way to an Otto’s Heart. Do not leave him waiting: he can disappear.

Important Tips

Catch the fish in this order: 100 Frigid Floe Fish → 25 Calamitous Carp → 1 Kingfin.

Use the barrel after each stage. The next fish will not drop until the barrel changes.

You must catch the fish yourself. You can log out without losing the barrel.
