Secret Fish and Where to Find Them

Collect 1 of each of the 30 secret fish to complete Secret Fish and Where to Find Them. Collect the fish from floating bubbles. You do not use Fishing for this achievement.

Requirements

Complete Secret Fish of Mechagon to unlock Secret Fish Goggles. You need 1 pair. The goggles are reusable.

If you need another pair, visit Danielle Anglers on Mechagon Island at 37.0, 47.2. After unlocking them, you can buy a pair for 10 gold.

How to Collect the Fish

Use Secret Fish Goggles. The effect lasts 1 hour, and the cooldown is also 1 hour.

Stand in an open area. A fish bubble appears nearby about every 25–30 seconds. Listen for the water sound, turn your camera, and click the fish inside the bubble.

Not every bubble gives an achievement fish. Keep collecting until the fish you need is marked as complete in your Achievement panel.

Start with the location-specific fish. You may collect many of the common fish while searching for them.

1. Location-Specific Fish

Keep the goggles effect active at each location. Unless a special spot is listed, find a clear area within the named zone.

Nazmir

Rotted Blood Cod — Collect bubbles in Zal’Amak, around 54.4, 57.8.

The Jade Forest

Jade Story Fish — Collect bubbles in The Jade Forest. You do not need to stand near water.

Isle of Thunder

Thunderous Flounder — Collect bubbles on the Isle of Thunder.

Dalaran

Kirin Tor Clown — Collect bubbles in Dalaran. Both the Northrend and Broken Isles versions work.

Mechagon Island

Mechanized Mackerel — Collect bubbles in the normal version of Mechagon Island.

Nazjatar

Queen’s Delight — Collect bubbles in Nazjatar.

Suramar

Ancient Mana Fin — Go to Suramar’s harbor, around 55.1, 76.5, and collect bubbles.

Tol Barad

Prisoner Fish — Collect bubbles on the southern PvP island, which contains Baradin Hold. Stay on this island, rather than Tol Barad Peninsula.

Howling Fjord

Barbed Fjord Fin — Collect bubbles in Howling Fjord. The top of Utgarde Keep offers a clear area to search.

Argus

Dead Fel Bone — Collect bubbles in Krokuun or Antoran Wastes.

Drustvar

Tortollan Tank Dweller — Go underwater beneath Anyport, around 18.93, 42.39. Enter the underwater bar called The Drunk Tank. Stay inside this subzone while collecting bubbles.

Kun-Lai Summit

Thin Air Flounder — Go to the top of Neverest Pinnacle, near the statue of Ren Yun the Blind, around 44.7, 52.4. Look for fish bubbles at the summit.

Mount Hyjal

Well Lurker — Go to the lake beneath Nordrassil, around 60.7, 25.8. Swim down and look for fish bubbles underwater.

Stormsong Valley

Drowned Goldfish — Collect bubbles in the Drowned Lands. Search around 46, 50 or 38.9, 55.5.

2. Green Roughy

Go to the painting station in Bondo’s Yard, Mechagon Island, around 63.23, 41.93.

Walk through the green paint to gain Painted Green. Keep this effect and Secret Fish Goggles active while collecting bubbles for Green Roughy.

3. Displaced Scrapfin

Enter the alternate future version of Mechagon Island. Use Chromie’s daily quest The Other Place, or a Personal Time Displacer.

With Secret Fish Goggles active, collect bubbles in this alternate timeline until you find Displaced Scrapfin.

4. Ghost Fish

Use the goggles, then collect bubbles while dead and in ghost form. Stay as a ghost until you have all four fish. You can also collect these fish while alive in Shadowlands zones.

Quiet Floater
Spiritual Salmon

5. Day and Night Fish

Golden Sunsoaker — Collect bubbles during the game’s daytime.

Elusive Moonfish — Collect bubbles during the game’s nighttime.

Both can appear in any zone. Follow the game’s day and night cycle. Your local clock may not match it, and exact clock times can differ between realms.

6. Common Secret Fish

These eight fish can appear in any zone, at any time. Leave them until last, as you may collect them while searching for the other fish.

Inconspicuous Catfish
Invisible Smelt
Travelling Goby
Unseen Mimmic
Very Tiny Whale

If any are missing, stay in a flat, open area and keep collecting bubbles. Check your Achievement panel to see which fish you still need.
